The revised interest rates shall apply to both fresh term deposits and renewals of existing term Deposits w.e.f. 09.01.2012 as mentioned above.
As per revised guidelines, w.e.f. 01.08.2011, additional interest of 0.50% over the above rates is payable to Resident Indian Senior Citizens on Domestic Term Deposits of less than 5 crore and the maturity tenor of one year and above only.
Eligible ex-employees, who are Senior Citizens and are eligible for an additional interest of 1% over the Card rate, are also eligible for an additional interest of 0.50% over the above rates payable to Resident Indian Senior Citizens on domestic term deposits of less than 5 crore & maturity tenor of one year and above only.
The branches are required to obtain prior clearance from Corporate Office, P&D Department through the respective Regional Office before accepting domestic term deposits of ABOVE Rs. 10 CRORE including renewals.
